What it is

A polished Selenite bar, about fifteen centimetres, with the fine parallel striations that run through the crystal. Selenite is the housekeeping stone: bracelets, malas and small pieces are rested on it overnight to clear what the day has left on them.

The useful part is that selenite is regarded as self-cleansing. It is the one piece in this collection that never needs looking after in return.

Who it suits

  • Anyone who already owns two or three crystals and has been wondering how to care for them.
  • People who would rather not put stones out under the moon every month.
  • A practical first purchase — it makes everything else easier.
  • Anyone with amethyst or rose quartz, neither of which should be sun-charged.

How it is used

Rest bracelets, malas, rings and small stones on it overnight — that is the whole method. Keep it somewhere it will not be splashed: a bedside table, a shelf, an altar.

It does not need charging, cleansing or resting itself.

What it does not do

  • It is not waterproof. Selenite is gypsum — it dissolves and goes cloudy in water, so it must never be washed or soaked.
  • It is not a medicine. It does not treat, cure or prevent any physical or mental illness, and it must never replace your doctor's advice or prescribed treatment.
  • It does not guarantee money, a job, a marriage or an examination result. Nobody can promise you that, and we will not.
  • It does not cleanse a room, a house or a person. It is for objects resting on it.

Care & authenticity

Natural polished selenite, cut into a flat bar. The parallel fibres you can see running along it are the crystal's own structure. Soft stone: it scratches with a fingernail, which is normal and is one way to tell real selenite from a hard imitation.

Keep it dry. Wipe with a dry cloth only — never water. Handle it by the flat, not the ends, as long thin selenite can split along its fibres if dropped.

  • Approx. 15 cm polished bar
  • Cares for all your other stones
  • No cleansing needed — ever
  • Care note included

Questions we are actually asked

Overnight is the usual answer — six to eight hours. There is no need to time it precisely, and leaving something on it for a week does no harm.
No. Selenite is gypsum and water dissolves it, leaving a cloudy, chalky surface. A dry cloth is all it needs, and it is the one stone that genuinely never requires cleansing.
For everyday purposes, yes — most people use the plate month to month and put things out on a full moon only occasionally. Both traditions are perfectly acceptable.

Ask before you buy — it costs nothing

Tell Dr. Nidhi what you are hoping a piece will help with. If something in the Atelier suits you, she will say which and why. If a reading, a mantra or simply nothing at all would serve you better, she will say that instead.
