What it is

Yellow Sapphire — Pukhraj — is the gem of Guru, Jupiter: the planet of wisdom, wealth, marriage, children and blessing. In the classical manner it is set in gold, worn on the index finger of the working hand, and first put on during a Thursday muhurat after the stone has been cleansed and energised with Jupiter's mantra.

Of all the Navratna it is the one people ask for most readily — which is exactly why it deserves the most honest handling.

Who it suits

  • A person whose chart shows Jupiter as a friendly, well-intentioned planet that would genuinely help if strengthened.
  • Questions of marriage, children, learning, finances, or general grace and protection — Jupiter's classical territory.
  • Someone running a Jupiter dasha or antardasha, when the timing supports it.
  • Whether any of that applies to you can only be read from your complete chart — the Lagna, the Moon, Jupiter's placement and the running dasha together. That is the consultation's job, not this page's.

How it is worn

Classically: set in gold, worn on the index finger of the working hand, first put on during a Thursday muhurat, after the stone has been washed and Jupiter's mantra recited over it. The setting is usually open at the back so the stone touches the skin, and once worn it is worn continuously rather than on and off.

The exact weight, metal, finger and muhurat that suit you are given in the consultation. General rules published online are averages, and averages fit nobody in particular.

What it does not do

  • It does not treat, cure or prevent any illness. Please continue your doctor's advice exactly as given.
  • It does not guarantee money, a job, a marriage, a visa or an examination result. Anyone who promises that is not being honest with you.
  • It does nothing useful if the planet it strengthens is unhelpful in your chart — which is precisely why we ask for the chart first.
  • It is not a legal or financial remedy, and it is not a substitute for good advice, effort or timing.
  • It should not be worn because it suited a friend or a relative, or because a website matched it to your zodiac sign. Their chart is not yours.

If the chart calls for a different remedy instead — another stone, a rudraksha, a mantra — we will say so plainly. That is the whole point of asking first.

  2. If it is, you are given the weight, metal, finger and muhurat that suit you personally, in writing.

Questions we are actually asked

Not from us. A gemstone strengthens its planet, and strengthening the wrong planet works against you — so we prescribe from the chart first and only then source certified options. If another seller will hand you one over the counter, that tells you something about the seller.
That depends entirely on the carat weight your chart calls for and on the quality of the stone sourced, so any figure quoted before the consultation would be invented. You are given a written price, with the certificate and the disclosure, before you decide anything.
Then we will say so plainly, and suggest what the chart does call for — perhaps another stone, perhaps a rudraksha, perhaps a mantra or nothing at all. That is the whole point of asking first.
